Symbols have always interested me, and that interest goes deeper than just in terms of elements of design. The currency symbol for the United States started out as a U and S stacked one over the other for self-explaining reasons, but has since morphed into $. Money symbols not only identify the countries they circulate, but can also identify the format of money. From dollars to cents, and reserve to crypto. Changing the currency symbol for V&T was an easy element we could change in order to help sell (if it wasn’t obvious enough already) that we’re in a different world. It’s familiar enough, and yet just slightly odd.
